Life Groups We are studying "Emotionally Healthy Spirituality" by Peter Scazzero and meet on Wednesdays @ 7:00 pm inthe Parlor.
Feeding the Homeless Come join us as we reach out to feed those who are in need of food and shelter as we feed the homeless! Join us at the church on second Saturday of each month at 5pm as we drive into the city to provide meals, fellowship, and prayer for those who have no place to lay their heads. Everyone is welcome! We will have fellowship at church afterward. If you are interested please see Cindy or Phil Sherer.
Wheels Ministry The Deacons “Wheels Ministry,” provides transportation to those who are unable to drive. It may be a ride to Sunday worship or to appointments during the week. If you are able to drive on one or two of these occasions please contact Mike Ash or Cindy Sherer. They will add you to our driver sign-up sheet in the Narthex.
Contribution Envelopes Please pick up your 2017 Weekly Contribution Envelopes that are available in the Narthex.
Food Banks & Homeless Shelters At this time of the year the Homeless Shelters and Food Banks are at their busiest. Throughout the year our church accepts non-perishable items, which may be placed in the wooden cabinet (food pantry) in the Narthex. The Mission Team will collect the cans and non-perishable food items and distribute them to the local food banks and homeless shelters. We are always looking for people who would like to help in this ministry.
2017 Per Capita Each year the local church is assessed an amount per member to support the work of the Presbyterian Church. This assessment is a significant operating cost to FHPC. Your offering Envelope box encludes a separate Per Capita envelope. Please consider paying your per member share of this apportionment in the amount of $31.50 per member. Thank you for your support.
Sanctuary Flowers We have a new way to provide honorary flowers. First, select a date in the order notebook at the rear of the sanctuary then fill in an order envelope found in the notebook and return it with payment to either the offering plate or to the church office. Flowers may be placed in the Sanctuary to remember a loved one, celebrate a special occasion or Give Glory to God!
Children and Worship Children and Worship was created to make a special place where children can come to be still and listen to God. Our time together begins with a greeting and song. The Bible story is then presented to the children with a time for the children to “wonder” about the story. Children will then have a time to respond to the story by drawing or working with the story on their own mat. We close with the same Bible story being read from the Bible and a closing prayer where the children are welcome to provide prayer requests. Your child is welcome to join us if they are 3 years of age through 2nd grade. The children will be dismissed after the Children’s Message and will exit the front of the sanctuary where they will be led by the worship leader, Heather Whitmore, to the Cascade room.
FHPC ~ Food Pantry Thank you all for your continual support for the Homeless Shelters and Food Banks. The Mission Team is asking that you now place your cans and non-perishable items in the wooden cabinet (food pantry) across the hall from the Parlor. This will help keep the Narthex free from clutter. The Mission Team will collect the cans and non-perishable food items and distribute them to the local food banks and homeless shelters. We are always looking for people who would like to help in this ministry.
Meals Ministry The deacons provide meals to assist families or individuals through difficult times. We are in need of volunteers to prepare and deliver meals to members who have recently been discharged from the hospital, had a baby or suffered a loss, etc. For more information or to sign up contact Kristie Stumme.
